We’re looking for a Goods In Team Leader to lead our Goods In operation in Middlesbrough. Your responsibilities will include

As our Goods In Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant day-to-day operation of the Goods In team. You’ll lead a team of Forklift Truck Operators, Warehouse Operatives, Yard Hygiene and Roof Void colleagues, ensuring deliveries are received safely, stock is accurately controlled, and materials flow seamlessly into production.

You’ll also play a key role in supporting the Area Manager and deputising for the Goods In Shift Supervisor when required.

  • Leading, motivating and developing the Goods In team to deliver outstanding performance.
  • Ensuring deliveries are receipted accurately and efficiently using Navision and Bluecube.
  • Creating LPNs and maintaining accurate stock records and traceability.
  • Managing stock movements across warehouse locations.
  • Supporting labour planning to ensure resources meet operational demand.
  • Escalating operational issues and removing barriers to performance.
  • Supporting and leading weekly stock takes.
  • Performing stock counts, PI checks and stock reconciliations.
  • Creating stock adjustments and ad-hoc movements where required.
  • Maintaining FIFO principles and ensuring stock integrity at all times.
  • Providing accurate stock information to Planning, Purchasing, Operations and Finance teams.
  • Championing a strong health and safety culture across the team.
  • Ensuring PPE, Safe Systems of Work and FLT procedures are followed.
  • Completing vehicle and forklift safety checks and reporting defects.
  • Supporting accident and near miss investigations.
  • Driving environmental improvements by reducing waste, energy and water usage.
  • Ensuring all incoming goods meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Completing temperature and vehicle condition checks.
  • Working closely with QA to resolve quality concerns.
  • Maintaining GMP standards across the Goods In operation.
  • Promoting a "Right First Time" culture.
  • Coaching, supporting and developing your team.
  • Setting clear daily expectations and providing regular feedback.
  • Conducting return-to-work interviews and supporting attendance management.
  • Identifying training needs and developing team capability.

About You - We’re looking for someone who

  • Previous experience leading front-line warehouse or logistics teams.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse, goods movement and stock control processes.
  • Experience working within food manufacturing or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Good understanding of quality, food safety and compliance standards.
  • Strong IT skills with experience using warehouse or ERP systems.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to understand KPIs and performance data.
  • Supervisory qualification or relevant NVQ.
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, Redzone or other Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of BRC or retailer audit standards.
  • CPC Licence.
