Salary: Grade S4, scale point 24 – 27; FTE £30,968.00 - £33,540.00; Actual: £26,517.87 - £28,720.27; Dependent on qualifications and experience.

Working Pattern: 36hrs/week; 07:30-16:00, Monday to Thursday, 7:30-14:30 Friday, Term Time Only.

St Dominic’s School is a highly regarded special school in Surrey, set within 56 acres of serene, wooded grounds offering plenty of space for recreational activities. The school caters to pupils and Sixth Form students aged 7 to 19, supporting a diverse range of academic abilities and complex needs. Additionally, we provide purpose-built medical facilities with qualified nursing staff on site every day.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Cover Supervisor to coordinate and allocate daily cover arrangements for planned and unplanned staff absence. The successful candidate will have experience in coordinating a timetable and working with children. Excellent time management, organisational skills and working to deadlines is essential for this post. The role involves 2/3 classroom cover and 1/3 cover supervisor duties and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of excellent classroom cover (2/3 of role).
  • Managing and organising cover arrangements for planned and unplanned staff absences, both teaching and non-teaching (1/3 of role).
  • Mentoring of supply and cover staff.
  • Safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour management.
  • Contribution to multi-disciplinary and collaborative working.
  • Line management and mentoring of supply staff, both teaching and non-teaching.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children.
  • Experience of coordinating a timetable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
