Our client is a 7-year-old make with autism spectrum disorder, global development delay, sensory processing disorder and PICA.
It may take a little time to understand our client due to a speech impairment.
Our client can be quite direct, so a thick skin is required.
Personal care is required.
Our client is touchy feelie especially with faces or any hanging lanyards and is happy with physical contact.
Our client enjoys the park, beach, watching the busses, trains and emergency vehicles.
Our client also enjoys the x-box and dinosaurs.
While our client enjoys these activities they can tire quickly and may need a little rest.
Our client lacks awareness of danger so you will need to be alert.
If scared our client may run and will need caught, often a strong comforting hug is often enough to calm them down again.
Our client can struggle around other children and may become distressed if he is unable to manage the games they are playing.
Our client may pick things up and lick them so awareness of this is required.
You must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work as well as patience as out client can at times repeat things throughout the day.
You must be comfortable with dogs.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
