Personal Assistant required for a 46 year old man who is seeking a female PA to work a minimum of 5 hours per week, the day preferred is Tuesdays from 3-8 (can be flexible).
He has autism and learning difficulties, was diagnosed in his teens. He is friendly and enjoys company but has difficulties with social communication and needs help with this.
Another area of need is with literacy as he can’t read and write, therefore relying on others to help him in many situations.
He works one half day a week which he greatly enjoys, especially taking photographs and making films.
At the moment his parents take him to and from work as he needs help with public transport due to his literacy problems.
He has many interests, for example building a model railway, making films, showing Vintage Reel to Reel films.
Watching tv especially You Tube and films.
He enjoys shopping for food and can care for his home with a little help from his PA.
He often cooks simple food for himself and his PA enjoying sharing a meal.
With his friendly and positive nature he is well liked and has only needed new staff when they retire or move to a different area.
Constancy and reliability are very important for him as he finds changes difficult.
We are seeking a female with a caring attitude, reliable and positive with a flexible approach to her work. Autism experience preferred.
No personal care required and we would prefer a person with transport and registered to take a passenger, but it is not a requirement
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
