Job Summary

Supporting the Estimating Department with the preparation of quotations, project administration and technical documentation while developing an understanding of CNC woodworking manufacturing processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in estimating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare customer quotations and estimating documentation.
  • Assist with organising customer enquiries, drawings, specifications and project files.
  • Assist with Bills of Materials (BOMs), material quantities and basic costings under supervision.
  • Coordinate with design, production, purchasing and sales teams to obtain information required for quotations.
  • Obtain supplier quotations for materials and purchased items.
  • Interpret technical drawings and manufacturing information.

Skills & Experience

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Good communication and numerical skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a timber manufacturing environment.
  • An interest in woodworking, manufacturing, engineering or construction.
  • Experience in an office or administrative role.
  • Experience using CAD software (e. g. Powershape, Solid Works or similar).
  • Developed understanding of technical drawings.
  • Sales or QS background

Qualifications

  • National 5 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Relevant college qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction, Business Administration or a related subject

Full training will be provided in

  • CNC woodworking and manufacturing processes.
  • Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Project and quotation administration.
  • Full-time – 39.25 hours per week Monday-Friday
  • Starting Salary circa. £30,000
  • Hours of Work: Mon -Thurs 8:45am – 5:15pm, Fri 8:45am – 4.30pm
  • Holidays: 259 hours per annum (includes public/bank holidays)
