The Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is on a journey to radically change the way in which Social Work delivers support and services. We are looking for qualified Social Workers who are committed to making a real difference to people’s lives within our Adult Services. We provide high quality, person centred social work support to adults with learning disabilities across Glasgow, ensuring their rights, safety, independence, and wellbeing.
The postholder will work within Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) and the statutory framework governing Scottish social work, including the Self directed Support (Scotland) Act 2013 and wider disability policy aimed at promoting equality, autonomy and full citizenship for disabled people across Scotland.

We are seeking energetic, talented, resilient and committed Social Workers to secure these outcomes. You will have sound knowledge of assessment and care management; have practiced extensively under the relevant legislation; and work in a person centred manner which will be fully embedded in your practice. You will be confident in managing risk and looking for innovative ways to promote independence and link people into the local community.
Applicants must possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent). Mental Health Officer qualification is desirable but not essential. Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for the above role. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks. Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. If you hold a non UK qualification you must be registered before applying for this post. If you hold a UK qualification you must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date.
Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees. These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
