A leading civil engineering contractor with a strong presence across Scotland is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join their expanding Water & Wastewater Infrastructure team.

Operating across major capital delivery programmes, they have built a reputation for safely delivering complex infrastructure projects that enhance and maintain essential services for local communities.

Your new role

As Site Agent, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Scotland.

You will lead site teams, manage subcontractors and coordinate project resources to ensure schemes are delivered in line with programme, budget and quality expectations.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing day-to-day site operations across multiple civil engineering projects.
  • Leading and promoting a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with SHEQ standards.
  • Planning and managing project programmes, resources and labour requirements.
  • Proactively identifying, managing and mitigating project risks.
  • Monitoring project performance, progress and costs.
  • Raising and managing Early Warning Notices (EWNs) where required.
  • Liaising with clients, stakeholders, local authorities and project teams throughout delivery.
  • Managing subcontractors and supply chain partners to achieve programme milestones.
  • Coordinating material procurement and resource allocation.
  • Overseeing private land access and highway possession requirements.
  • Driving problem solving and continuous improvement across project activities.
  • Supporting self-delivery operations where applicable.
  • What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • A Civil Engineering degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant experience delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience in a Site Agent, Site Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Strong programme management and planning capabilities.
  • Proven experience managing project risks and implementing mitigation measures.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness with experience of cost control and project reporting.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Self-delivery project experience.
  • SMSTS and other relevant site management qualifications.
