City Building provides a range of repairs and maintenance, manufacturing, construction and refurbishment activities for Glasgow City Council and Wheatley Housing Group’s citizens and customers as well as other public, private and third sector organisations. About the Role

The Organisational Development (OD) Advisor plays a key role in driving organisational effectiveness through workforce development, leadership development, and transforming organisational culture. Working closely with key stakeholders, the postholder will effectively deliver OD initiatives, learning and development programmes, leadership and management development, and succession planning initiatives to build a skilled, engaged and future-ready workforce. This role supports workforce planning and helps ensure City Building maintains the skills, knowledge, and agility required to meet evolving organisational needs. As the OD Advisor you will foster an inclusive culture that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion across organisational practices, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.

What You Will Bring

The OD Advisor will have demonstrable experience of understanding organisational strategy and translating business goals into effective organisational development solutions. They will have a successful track record of leading and delivering leadership and management development programmes, alongside the ability to identify organisational needs to improve organisational performance. The successful candidate will have a collaborative mindset, building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels to support organisational change and workforce development. Adaptability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to changing organisational needs are key to success in this role. You will have a strong commitment to continuous improvement, personal development, and inclusive working practices. You must have a strong educational background in HR/ OD or be working towards a formal CIPD or relevant qualification.
