To help us achieve that, we are looking for a Finance Officer to join our Financial Accounts and Governance team. Our teams focus on making a real difference through culture and sport in Glasgow. - Location: Hybrid. You will spend part of your week at home, and part of your week in one of our offices.
What you’ll do
As a Finance Officer, you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Finance Business Partner. You’ll play an essential role in providing support on technical accounting and statutory matters, helping Glasgow Life maintain strong financial management and effective financial controls, while ensuring good stewardship of resources in line with statutory and regulatory requirements. Your work will make a visible and lasting difference. This could be:

- Or working behind the scenes to make it all happen
Who you are
We’re looking for someone with the right skills who brings energy to the role. Someone who has an HNC/Association of Accounting Technician (AAT)/Part Qualified or qualified by experience. Someone with a working knowledge of financial ledger systems. Someone with established negotiating skills to influence and provide challenge to service areas. Proficient in use of Microsoft packages.
At the end of the temporary period, eligible employees will have a right to return to a role of their substantive grade within the council family as a minimum. Internal employees are required to inform their current manager prior to submitting an application. This position requires a Standard Disclosure. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their Disclosure.
