Surehaven Glasgow was established in 2010 and is registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland as an Independent Low Secure Mental Health Hospital. We can accommodate up to twenty-one patients aged between 18 to 65 with a primary diagnosis of mental illness, some of whom are liable to be detained under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Scotland Act 2003 and can have forensic backgrounds. Residents are housed across two gender specific wards.

Shaw healthcare is looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our team. You will join a team that is fully committed to making a difference to the lives of those who we provide care for. Our aim is to deliver the highest standard of care to our service users and to provide the same standard of care that we would expect our own family members to receive. Surehaven Glasgow has an excellent reputation as a highly valued provider of care. You will work as part of a great team and be making a difference to our residents by providing an excellent standard of service within the hospital.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize rooms including furnishings in assigned work areas.
  • The ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness of the service and laundry causing minimal disruption to our service users and their care.
  • Be able to communicate and engage effectively with our service users, their families and colleagues; good interpersonal and working relationship skills are essential.
  • Will need to demonstrate the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • You will use a variety of cleaning products paying particular attention to COSHH regulated products.
  • You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and be able to maintain a high level of hygiene within the home.
