What you need to know

  • Hours: 35 hours per week.
  • Contract type: Fixed term until 31 August 2028. At the end of the temporary period, internal eligible employees will have a right to return to a role of their substantive grade within the council family as a minimum. Employees are required to inform their current manager prior to submitting an application.
  • Location: Hybrid. You will spend part of your week at home, and part of your week in one of our offices.

What you'll do

As a Development Officer you will plan and deliver the Museums Membership programme. You'll be a part of an established and ambitious Development team, reporting to the Senior Individual Giving Officer. As you build a sustainable membership income stream, you will work closely with a variety of stakeholders to develop engaging communications and events which connect members to Glasgow Life Museums. You will work with the Senior Individual Giving Officer to achieve ambitious growth targets, trialling new acquisition processes and delivering an engaging membership offer which highlights the values of Glasgow Life Museums.

Who you are

  • A results driven fundraising professional with an interest in museums and the cultural sector.
  • An enthusiastic and creative approach to membership stewardship and acquisition with experience of writing engaging and impactful supporter communications and planning donor or member events.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience of creating and managing an Individual Giving or membership programme.
