The Role

• Cleaning the building or supervising a team of Cleaners
• Gardening and performing landscape duties or supervising others in these roles
• Inspecting the building, including heating, cooling, lighting and alarm systems to make sure they are in good working order
• Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required
• Sourcing, booking and supervising contractors for major repairs
• Monitoring cleaning materials, tools, and furniture and reordering as required
• Managing bookings for any buildings or rooms available for hire
• Opening building at the start of the day and locking all doors and windows when not in operation
• Adhering to the company's safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone
• Ability to work on own initiative and identify new opportunities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Good standard of IT skills
• Participate in ongoing training for continued professional development (organizational & professional)
• Self-motivated, organised and professional
• Portray a positive attitude
• Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations, including fire safety and risk assessments.
• Ability to identify maintenance issues and carry out minor repairs.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Experience using maintenance equipment and tools safely.
• Basic IT skills for reporting faults and maintaining records.
• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends if required.
• A full UK driving licence (where applicable).
• First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience managing contractors and overseeing maintenance work.
• Knowledge of security procedures, including opening and closing buildings, alarm systems, and key management.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities when working in educational or community settings.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Ongoing training will be provided

• Any offers made will be subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and completion of mandatory e-modules prior to starting the job

Education

GCSE or equivalent (Preferred)

Hours of work

This role involves working Monday to Friday from 4:30pm - 7:45pm. May require Weekends and Early Mornings.

Pay

Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications

Start Date

As soon as clear enhanced DBS is received, and Mandatory online modules have been completed by the candidate.
