About the Role
We're investing in the future of our People Services function and are looking for an organised and customer-focused Assistant HR Advisor to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality People Services across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across the full employee lifecycle while working as part of a supportive and professional People Services team. You will play a key role in ensuring managers and employees receive an efficient, responsive and customer-focused service.
Responsibilities
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding activities, including preparing contracts and coordinating pre-employment checks.
- Assisting with attendance management and employee relations processes, including coordinating meetings and maintaining case records.
- Maintaining accurate employee records and updating HR systems.
- Processing employee lifecycle changes such as starters, leavers, contractual amendments and promotions.
- Providing payroll administration support and ensuring employee information is recorded accurately.
- Acting as a first point of contact for routine People Services enquiries from managers and employees.
- Supporting workforce reporting, data management and service improvement initiatives.
Working across a wide range of People Services activities, you'll develop valuable experience in recruitment, employee relations, attendance management, HR administration, payroll and workforce information.

Essential Requirements
- Experience working within an administrative, customer service, HR or People Services environment.
- Experience maintaining accurate records, data and documentation.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice, or willingness to work towards a professional HR qualification.
- Experience working within an HR or People Services environment.
- Experience supporting recruitment, employee relations or payroll administration activities.
