Join Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust as a Deputy General Manager (Band 8b) within the Children, Young People and Families Directorate, where you will play a key leadership role in shaping high-quality services for children, young people and families across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operational leader to drive service performance, transformation, quality improvement and partnership working across a diverse portfolio of community mental health services.
Working closely with the General Manager, clinical leaders and system partners, you will lead operational delivery, workforce development, financial management and service improvement initiatives, ensuring safe, effective and patient-centred care.
The role offers the opportunity to influence strategic change, support innovative models of care and make a lasting difference to the outcomes and experiences of children, young people and their families.
- Provide day to day operational management and development of children's health services, ensuring the delivery of efficient, effective and safe patient centred services within the Children’s, Young People and Families Directorate.
- As a member of the Senior Directorate Management Team ensure, encourage and enable the performance and development of the community mental health services and associated standards.
- The post holder will be expected to provide direct line management support and guidance, and to represent the broad views of local clinical and operational teams within the directorate and will need to achieve a level of visibility that enables these expectations to be met.
- The post holder will be expected to interpret national guidance in relation to the delivery of services, as well as implementation of transformation/improvement tools and practices.
- The post holder will be expected to support the service and team managers with the delivery of services aligned with the Long-Term Plan, STP and commissioning expectations, operating as one system across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
- Support the General Manager to ensure services are delivered and reported in line with national rules and guidance.
- Support the General Manager in ensuring that project and operational plans are delivered and meet mandatory standards.
- Ensure clinical supervision is well established, effective and recorded.
- Participate in the on-call rota for CPFT.
- The post holder will be expected to support the senior directorate team in identifying key priorities for service and operational improvement.
In particular to support the Service Director in ensuring, where indicated by the directorate dashboard, actions to improve operational performance are developed and implemented.
- The post holder will develop strategies and actions to support service managers and professional leads to improve performance.
- The post holder will support the Directorate Head of Nursing & Quality to identify the relevant regulatory standards that the directorate is required to adhere to (in particular CQC) and support operational managers in developing actions to ensure compliance.
- The post holder at times may be expected to take on operational responsibilities as determined by the General Manager, including, but not exclusively:
- Transformation projects, particularly planned and unplanned care;
- Developing new business and service models
- The post holder will agree with the General Manager the representation needed in directorate and operational meetings.
- The post holder will be expected to develop and sustain positive relationships and engagement with key staff within the directorate and across the Trust.
