As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff and contractors.

No two days are the same.

From responding to incidents and supporting vulnerable individuals, to protecting hospital assets and working alongside clinical teams, you will be at the heart of keeping our hospital running safely and effectively.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Creating a safe and secure environmentfor patients, visitors, staff and contractors by protecting people, property and assets across the hospital site.
  • Making critical decisions in dynamic situations, carrying out risk assessments and using sound judgement to resolve incidents, support colleagues and maintain safety.
  • Providing a visible security presencethrough proactive patrols of the hospital and surrounding grounds, including monitoring car parks and responding promptly to security incidents.
  • Operating security technology, including CCTV and access control systems, to help prevent, detect and investigate incidents while ensuring compliance with Trust policies and GDPR requirements.
  • Communicating professionally and compassionatelywith patients, visitors, staff, emergency services and external agencies, using de-escalation and conflict resolution skills where required.
  • Producing accurate incident reports and statements, both electronically and in writing, ensuring clear documentation and effective information sharing.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting clinical and non-clinical colleagues to maintain a safe, welcoming and secure healthcare environment.
  • Living the Trust's valuesby delivering outstanding customer service, demonstrating professionalism, respect and compassion in every interaction.
