The Network Quality Manager will provide expert leadership for the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Histopathology Quality Management System across the Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS) network.

Working across hub and satellite laboratories, the post holder will ensure compliance with ISO 15189:2022, Human Tissue Authority requirements, UKAS accreditation standards, Trust policies and relevant legislation, supporting the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality diagnostic services.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing the Histopathology Quality Team and driving a culture of quality, governance and continuous improvement across the network. The post holder will lead all aspects of quality management, providing specialist advice on quality, risk and clinical governance to senior managers, consultant medical staff and multidisciplinary teams. They will interpret complex regulatory and professional requirements, translating them into systems, policies and procedures that support compliance and service excellence.

Coordinating external inspections and accreditation visits, including UKAS and HTA assessments, ensuring inspection readiness and timely completion of corrective and preventative actions. They will support the harmonisation of quality processes, documentation, training and governance arrangements across Surrey and Berkshire labs, helping to deliver a consistent and standardised network operating model.

In addition, NHS England funding has supported the introduction of automation and modern histopathology equipment, providing ready-to-use technology that supports robust verification and validation processes. These developments are fundamental to maintaining the highest standards of quality, governance, and workforce development.

This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the contract.
