The Point of Care Testing Team within Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services offers Partnered Trusts an on-site, Rapid Respiratory Service that tests for Influenza, RSV and COVID with a fast turnaround time. We are looking for candidates to join our bank staff who can offer significant availability for night shifts and are able to work at one or more sites stated in the job description: Ashford and St Peters Hospitals – Chertsey.
During the winter months, the service is expanded and we require enthusiastic and flexible individuals to join the team. The postholder could be based at any of the six hospital sites within the Berkshire Surrey Pathology network of hospitals; candidates booked for interview will be asked for what sites can be covered.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to work as part of the Point of Care Testing Team, providing a 24/7 service processing samples to investigate for COVID and other respiratory viruses. The ability to follow standardised processes is vital, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, good communication skills and team working are essential.
The work entails day-to-day processing of samples, interacting with clinical staff and other Trust employees, and keeping detailed records of data required to monitor the quality of the service we provide. Multi-tasking and working under pressure is important to facilitate strict results turnaround times.
