Friendly, patient PA to support an active, sociable teenager with epilepsy, autism & ADHD MM-BBC-001
We're looking for a Male Personal Assistant to support individual with his daily activities and routines.
The PA will help child stay safe and settled, particularly around his epilepsy and sensory needs, while supporting him to enjoy his interests and maintain his routines.
Roles and Responsibilities
Support child with trips to Tesco and swimming sessions; support and engage with childs hobbies (trains, track building, watching shows); monitor child during bathing/washing in case of seizure activity; support child to maintain routines and help manage distress if routines are disrupted; use simple language and visual supports to communicate clearly; be alert to signs of sensory overload or seizure triggers (e.g. sudden increase in energy) and respond calmly; support child in busy or high-sensory environments, keeping time in these settings brief where possible; respond calmly and safely if child becomes distressed or displays challenging behaviour.
We need someone patient, calm, and reassuring, confident using simple language and visual/picture-based communication.
Who is comfortable supporting someone with epilepsy, autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities; able to stay calm and respond safely to sudden behavioural changes or seizure activity; sociable and enthusiastic, reliable and consistent
