We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Foundation Learning Lecturer to join a supportive Further Education college in the Bedford area this September.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with learners at the start of their educational journey, supporting them to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to progress into further study, employment or independent living.

The Opportunity

As a Foundation Learning Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to learners with a range of abilities and support needs.

You'll play a key role in helping students develop essential English, maths, personal development, employability and life skills while creating a positive learning environment where every learner can succeed.

Working closely with support staff and wider college teams, you'll help learners achieve their individual goals and take meaningful steps towards their future aspirations.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Planning and delivering creative and engaging Foundation Learning lessons
  • Supporting learners to develop confidence, independence and resilience
  • Teaching and embedding employability, personal development and life skills
  • Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Monitoring learner progress and celebrating achievements
  • Supporting learners to achieve individual targets and EHCP outcomes where applicable
  • Working collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants and curriculum teams
  • Preparing learners for progression into further education, supported internships, employment or independent living
  • Maintaining accurate learner records and contributing to learner reviews

What We're Looking For

  • Experience teaching within Foundation Learning, Supported Learning or SEND provision
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • A positive and learner focused approach
  • Passion for helping learners achieve their full potential
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learning needs
  • Experience within Further Education is highly desirable
