Gi Group is recruiting on behalf of a global life sciences company whose products and services support scientific research, healthcare and industrial laboratories. We are looking for a Formulation Technician to join the team onsite in East Grinstead (RH19) on a temp-to-perm basis (6-month assignment with the potential to go permanent).
Working within the production laboratory and aseptic dispensing room, you will help manufacture Sensititre™ antimicrobial susceptibility plates. You'll play a key part in ensuring health & safety and quality standards are met at all times, operating in line with GLP, GMP, and site SOPs.
- Prepare antimicrobial solutions following SOPs and production paperwork (weighing, dissolution, dilution)
- Set up and monitor dispensing pumps to ensure on-time, quality output (pouring, priming, weight checks)
- Manufacture ancillary solutions (ID media, buffers, excipients)
- Carry out compliance checks on lab equipment/instrumentation (pipettes, balances, extractors)
- Monitor and maintain raw material stock levels (consumables, intermediates, equipment)
- Wash and autoclave equipment (pumps, glassware and other items)
- Use systems/software to process information (SAP ERP, Microsoft Office, bespoke programs)
- Support wider lab activities as required
Base rate: £13.46 per hour
Total effective hourly rate: £16.15 per hour
This is a 3-week rotating daytime shift pattern, including one weekend in three, within lab operating hours 06:30-18:30. Average 38 hours per week:
- Week 1: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun
- Week 2: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri
- Week 3: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri
Ideally educated to A-level standard in a scientific subject (or equivalent). Able to follow SOPs and H&S guidelines consistently. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Able to organise and prioritise tasks independently. High attention to detail, especially with procedures and manual records. Good manual dexterity for complex tasks. Previous laboratory experience. Experience in a fast-paced / high-throughput manufacturing environment. Exposure to GMP/GLP environments.
