Derby Health Staffing (DHS) aims to match suitably skilled workers with the staffing requirements of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB). We are looking for enthusiastic, caring individuals to join our Bank, supporting clinical staff in all aspects of patient care. You will have the opportunity of working in a variety of clinical areas across the Trust.

THIS VACANCY COVERS ALL 5 UHDB TRUST SITES:

  • Florence Nightingale Community Hospital
  • Samuel Johnson Hospital
  • Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital

It is essential that you have a minimum of 12 months recent, paid experience working in an acute hospital environment within the UK. In addition to the above, it is essential that you have a recognised qualification in care (NVQ/QCF/Health & Social Care Apprenticeship, BTEC, Care Certificate or Access to Healthcare). To confirm, we no longer accept ANY type of Diploma certificate.

You will be required to provide photographic ID and evidence of a qualification in care (NVQ/QCF/Health & Social Care Apprenticeship, BTEC, Care Certificate or Access to Healthcare). We are unable to accept photocopies or on-line documentation and must be original certificates only. Care Certificate can only be accepted with a completed competency assessment document (practical workbook, assessing your competency in practice). If you are unable to provide physical evidence in the form of a care qualification certificate and completed competency assessment document for the Care Certificate (practical workbook), unfortunately we will have to turn you away on the day of assessment.

Shortlisted applicants will undertake a literacy and numeracy assessment on 20th August 2026. Please ensure you are available to attend; no alternative dates will be offered.
