A well-established and growing construction and engineering business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team. Operating across a diverse portfolio of projects, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions and is entering an exciting period of growth and operational development.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective business partnering across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing the finance team
  • Delivering accurate monthly management accounts and board reporting
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
  • Overseeing project accounting and contract reporting
  • Driving improvements to financial controls, processes and systems
  • Supporting commercial decision-making through meaningful financial analysis
  • Managing year-end audit and statutory reporting requirements
  • Working closely with operational and project teams to maximise profitability and performance
  • Monitoring working capital and supporting strategic business initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role
  • Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or project-based environments
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
  • Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement
