The role of the Finance Business Partner – Planning and Reporting is to provide financial leadership to the Trust’s continuous planning process, from in-year financial performance reporting through to setting the following year’s financial plan. The postholder is an integral member of the Senior Finance Team and will participate fully in all business matters.

The role will deliver a comprehensive financial reporting and planning service to the Trust working closely with the Divisional Finance Teams, Income and Contracting and Financial Services. The role will ensure that financial and operational reporting information is available in a timely fashion to fulfil both internal and external reporting requirements. The role will be responsible for using this information to create and maintain the Trust’s medium- to long-term financial plan.

You will provide financial leadership for the Trust's planning and reporting function, supporting the development of robust financial plans and delivering high-quality reporting that enables effective decision-making across the organisation. You will lead the production and continuous improvement of the financial reporting suite, including in-year performance, forecasting, statutory and regulatory returns and planning.

Working closely with key stakeholders, you will ensure financial, workforce, activity and performance data is brought together to provide a clear understanding of the Trust's financial position and future outlook. You will provide insightful analysis, identifying key risks and actions required to support delivery of the Trust's objectives.

The role will coordinate the Trust-wide annual planning process, ensuring consistency of assumptions, financial modelling and reporting across divisions and corporate teams. You will provide expert financial advice, challenge and assurance to senior leaders, present complex information to executive and governance forums, and support reporting to NHS England and system partners.

As a senior member of the Finance Team, you will lead improvements in financial planning, reporting and information processes, helping to ensure the Trust has the insight and capability required to support both operational performance and long-term financial sustainability.
