I'm recruiting an additional personal assistant to join my established care team in a long-term, one-to-one role supporting me at home in Thurnby, Leicestershire.

I'm a tetraplegic woman in my early 40s and live with my husband, four-year-old child, and a dog in an active, friendly household.

I work and study part-time from home, and life is varied — this is not a quiet or clinical environment.

The role

  • Privately employed (PAYE – no agency or third-party involvement)
  • Full-time or part-time options available
  • Guaranteed hours
    (Flexibility for the right person to work days, evenings, nights, or a combination.)
  • Bank holidays paid at time and a half
  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata)

Duties include

  • Personal care, including bowel and bladder management
  • Hoist transfers (full training provided)
  • Supporting daily routines
  • Meal preparation and light domestic tasks
  • Driving my wheelchair-accessible vehicle to appointments, work, and social activities
  • Occasional travel and overnight stays
  • Full driving licence
  • Non-smoker (non-smoking home and role)
  • Comfortable working in a home with a young child and a dog
  • Good level of spoken English for clear communication and safety
  • Reliable, calm, and happy working as part of a small team
