I am a 55 year old female.
I enjoy various activities outside the home and require a level of supervision to access these safely.
I have many interests including Beamish, Durham, shopping and visits to the cinema, and I enjoy going to the theatre.
I have some communication difficulties and may need help to explain myself when in unfamiliar situations.
Therefore, patience is essential and experience or understanding of children or adults with special needs would be advantageous.
It is important that you engage with me, chat with me and show interest in my activities.
You will be expected to be pro-active and suggest appropriate places to go and activities which you think I may enjoy.
You will work under my family’s direction to meet my needs you must be reliable and able to work flexible hours.
You must respect my privacy and security, particularly when in our home, and understand the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.
It is important that you communicate regularly to my family to ensure that all my needs are being met.
There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
