Female PA Support Required Within The Home For Personal/Stoma Care and Support with Building Confidence - 12 Hours Per Week - CC-DCC-001 - Clay Cross, Chesterfield
Roles and Responsibilities
The PA will be required to provide support with personal care and stoma care. You will be working alongside another PA (double up calls) and working as part of a team of PA's.
Support with personal care will require supporting with showering.
You will then help the individual back into bed to provide stoma care. this will include keeping the area clean and massaging around the stomach around the stoma bag.
The individual requiring support also has a catheter.
You will also be required to support the individual with getting into their wheelchair so they are able to move around the home.
The individual can sometimes feel overwhelmed and benefits from emotional support.
The PA should be able to recognise changes in their mood and identify what may be contributing to these feelings.
As a PA you should provide reassurance, encouragement, and a calm approach, helping the individual build their confidence.
You will be able to recognise and understand what the individual is able to take in and understand.
Support is needed to maintain a clean and hygienic environment, including the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, to help reduce the risk of infection.
Assistance may also be required with shopping and going to the chemist.
