At Felixstowe Hospital, we're looking for a dedicated and reliable Domestic Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues. What you’ll do:
- Deliver cleaning services in line with 2025 National Cleaning Standards, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
- Follow COSHH regulations and infection prevention and control procedures, including the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Comply with Health and Safety legislation, reporting incidents, accidents, hazards, and faulty equipment promptly.
- Adhere to Food Safety regulations and procedures, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety where required.
- Safely undertake manual handling tasks in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation.
- Remove and dispose of general and clinical waste in line with approved waste management procedures and segregation requirements.
- Work collaboratively with ward and clinic teams, responding to requests and adapting priorities to support patient care and service delivery.
What you bring:
- Experience within a cleaning role.
- Knowledge of cleaning methodologies, procedures, and best practices.
- Good understanding of COSHH regulations and Health and Safety requirements.
- Entry level qualification in English and Maths.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Strong customer service and active listening skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
- Capable of working to deadlines and managing workload effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible in approach.
- Friendly and professional manner with a high standard of personal hygiene.
