The Senior Clinical Fellow role is required to support the Eye Unit through Oculoplastic clinics, minor operations, botulinum toxin clinics and general Ophthalmology on-call. The role is to provide support to the Oculoplastic service working under the two Oculoplastic Consultants, as well as working independently and autonomously.

The candidate is expected to carry out independent oculoplastic clinics, including:

  • Minor eyelid abnormalities
  • Dry eyes/tear film disturbance/lacrimal issues
  • Running minor operations clinics
  • Botulinum toxin clinics

This could be expanded to ectropion/entropion repair and additional surgery depending on experience and filling in theatre lists when the Consultants are away.

Provide clinical supervision to resident trainee doctors and be part of the on-call rota.
