About the role
We’re looking for a Support Worker to join our friendly team in Farnborough, supporting two ladies and three gentlemen aged between their 40s and 80s who live full, independent lives with learning disabilities. They’re looking forward to welcoming someone who will enjoy getting involved in the things they love, such as:
- Lunch trips to Costa Coffee
- Visiting the local cinema
- Bowling outings
- Exploring the local library
- Walks around the community
Not everyone we support uses words to communicate, but they each have their own unique ways of expressing themselves. If you haven’t worked with non-verbal communication before, don’t worry — full training is provided.
What you’ll do
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in helping people live the life they choose. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting with personal care
- Helping with meal preparation
- Assisting with finances
- Encouraging independence and meaningful daily activities
- Being a warm, reliable presence in their home
Shifts vary, with the earliest starting at 07:30 and the latest finishing at 22:00. You may also be required to work one sleep-in shift per week. A full UK/EU driving licence would be an advantage, as the people we support have access to a vehicle.
