Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Additional Requirement

Participation in an occasional on-call weekend rota.

Summary

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of building services, plant equipment, and facilities infrastructure across the site.

The successful candidate will support both planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.

  • Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all heating plant and associated equipment are operated, monitored, maintained, and adjusted as required.
  • Provide electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ensure all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) faults are logged, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all operational switch rooms and plant rooms to the required standards.
  • Support the site's water management maintenance programme.
  • Assist with the maintenance and servicing of all Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Support the maintenance and repair of site access control systems.
  • Competently use power tools to undertake fitting, plumbing, and minor joinery work as required.

• Carry out general facilities maintenance, including

  • Repair and maintenance of site fixtures and fittings.
  • Unblocking sinks and drains.
  • Repairing or replacing taps, toilets, and waste pipes.
  • Complete all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities within prescribed timescales.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and checklists using the CMMS system.
  • Plan, monitor, and close maintenance works and fault reports raised through the CMMS system.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities to support compliance with regulatory requirements and external inspections, including HSE and insurance audits.
  • Assist with and supervise external contractors and service providers when required.
  • Provide facilities maintenance support to other Sysco Northern Ireland sites as needed.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours callout rota, including occasional weekend support.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across all departments.
  • Respond effectively to emergency incidents and provide appropriate support as situations arise.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Relevant trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of three years' post-apprenticeship experience in a similar maintenance role within a regulated manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Proven experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) standards.
  • Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in an on-call rota and occasional travel to other sites.
