Due to retirement, Crown Chicken Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Area Manager to join our Agricultural Division, overseeing a portfolio of poultry farms across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven poultry professional with strong leadership skills to join us as an Area Manager to play a key role in maintaining exceptional standards of bird welfare, farm performance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion the highest standards of bird welfare across all sites and ensure effective management of ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter and lighting systems in line with company standards.
  • Set and agree farm KPIs with senior management and support teams to achieve targets.
  • Lead, motivate and develop farm managers and teams to deliver outstanding performance.
  • Work collaboratively with other Area Managers to coordinate cover and resource requirements across the region.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture across all sites and ensure hazards, near misses and incidents are reported, investigated and managed appropriately.
  • Participate in the alarm-call rota, responding promptly to alarms and ensuring any faults are rectified without delay.

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification

  • Strong poultry farming experience, ideally within a Senior/Area management role.
  • Possess strong people management skills.
  • Have experience working with regulatory bodies such as RSPCA and Red Tractor.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety, and ability to demonstrate this within your day to day duties.
  • Be based within Norfolk or Suffolk (or willing to relocate).
