Operative: We are looking for a General Maintenance Operative to join our established Engineering team at Cranswick Country Foods Fresh Poultry in Eye, Suffolk.

You will be responsible for assisting in keeping the site up to a good standard of repair and any other job the site services manager requires

Shift Pattern – 06:00-15:00, Sunday-Thursday

Duties

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure all site services e. g. steam, water, drainage electrical – HV etc. are functioning within legal, customer, environmental and business requirements.
  • Ensure all compliance records are maintained and filled in correctly.
  • All structural areas of the building are to be monitored and maintained to an acceptable standard.
  • All required works are documented and completed on the business CMMS system.
  • All Site water systems to comply with L8 (control of Legionella).
  • Carry out all required works allocated through the Shire system including all customer non conformances, PPM’S, structural works, auxiliary works and anything the business may at times require you to undertake.
  • All Site air handling systems to be inspected as per the maintenance schedules and maintained to an agreed acceptable standard.
  • To be completely familiar, and ensure compliance with, all relevant legislation (current and emerging) with respect to Health and Safety, Environmental matters and Construction Law.
  • Make sure all auditable paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Understand and support KPI improvements.
  • Investigate and record hazards, risks and near misses.
  • Continuous self-development with respect to, machinery, current trends, legislation and processes understanding.
  • Effective communications between cross functional teams.
  • Optimisation and improvement of Planned \\ Predictive \\ Corrective Maintenance activities.
  • Give constructive feedback in a way that drives performance and encourages commitment to achieving targets.
  • Actively encourage Team members to share knowledge and observations, ideas, improvements and best practices by supporting and encouraging teamwork.
  • Ensure equality and diversity within the team.

What you will need

  • Experience as a Multi‑Skilled Engineer, preferred
  • Minimum of a NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical work
  • Problem solver.
  • Pro‑active and forward thinking.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Can work on own initiative and as part of a team.
