Overview

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced and motivated Vehicle Technician to join a growing team specialising in vehicle electrical installations and bespoke vehicle fit-outs for commercial fleets and private clients.

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills and will be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

This is a hands‑on role offering a varied workload including electrical installations, vehicle accessory fitting, and van conversions.

Whilst this role is primarily based in Exeter, it may involve some mobile installation work at customer sites.

The successful candidate will have experience working with vehicle electrics, aftermarket accessories, or vehicle fit-outs and take pride in delivering high‑quality workmanship.

  • Key Duties
  • Install, test and commission vehicle electrical systems and accessories.
  • Fit dash cameras, DVR systems, GPS trackers, reverse cameras, and parking sensors.
  • Install vehicle towbars and associated wiring.
  • Apply vehicle graphics, chevrons, and signage.
  • Carry out van fit-outs, including racking, ply lining, and bespoke storage solutions.
  • Diagnose and rectify installation‑related issues.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety, quality, and industry standards.
  • Complete job documentation accurately and maintain records of completed work.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Auto Electrician, Installation Technician, Vehicle Conversion Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, wiring, and diagnostics.
  • Experience installing vehicle accessories and aftermarket equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and follow installation specifications.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of fleet vehicle compliance requirements.
  • Experience with van conversions or bespoke vehicle fit-outs.
  • Electrical or automotive‑related qualifications.
