Our client, a leading UK infrastructure organisation, is looking for a Structures Engineer to join their Asset Management team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in structures, asset management, or structural assessments to play a key role in maintaining and improving vital infrastructure assets.
The successful candidate will support the management of highway structures through inspections, assessments, risk management, scheme development, and stakeholder engagement.
The role offers a varied workload, combining technical engineering, asset management, project support, and scheme development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- - Prepare survey briefs and support the delivery of structures surveys, assessments, and renewal projects.
- - Monitor and manage the delivery of structural assessment work and treatment options in collaboration with technical partners and delivery teams.
- - Develop early-stage solutions for asset improvements and renewals, considering costs, materials, innovation, and buildability.
- - Undertake structural reviews in accordance with CS 451 and carry out structural assessments in line with DMRB standards.
- - Support the development of regional asset programmes, initial scheme development, technical specifications, and customer-focused engineering solutions.
- - Assist with budget management and support the successful delivery of infrastructure projects.
About You
- - Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
- - Experience in structures studies, renewals, design, asset management, or structural assessments
- - Knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, Eurocodes, and their application within the highways sector
- - Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations
- - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- - A desire to work towards or maintain professional accreditation with a recognised engineering institution
