Our client, a reputable dealership in Romford, Essex, is seeking a highly skilled Workshop Controller to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to lead the workshop team, optimise operational performance, and deliver exceptional customer service. Duties:

  • Lead and manage the workshop technician team to maximise productivity, first-time fix rates, and sold hours
  • Oversee customer-facing staff to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining high customer service standards
  • Implement and utilise digital systems and processes aligned with the dealership’s digitalisation strategy
  • Develop and mentor team members to support their skills, knowledge, and career growth
  • Optimise operational processes within the customer journey, including Vehicle Health Checks
  • Ensure compliance with DVSA MOT regulations, health and safety standards, and group financial procedures
  • Contribute to the overall dealership goals through positive departmental influence

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or within a similar supervisory role in the automotive sector
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of workshop operations and digital systems
  • Ability to motivate a team and achieve targets
  • Full UK driving licence
