SALARY: £29,800 per annum + £3,000 per annum Performance / Attendance Bonus (after probation period) + Benefits

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday 10:00 – 19:00. With occasional Saturdays, which will be on a rota basis to cover holidays etc. Overtime paid at time and a half

JOB OVERVIEW

We have an excellent opportunity for a Transport Administrator to join its transport team in North Weald. Working as the Transport Administrator, you will act as a key point of contact between customers, the warehouse and the transport operation, helping to resolve enquiries, process orders, maintain accurate records and support the smooth movement and distribution of stock, supplies and materials. Any pallet network experience would be highly desirable.

As the Transport Administrator, you will provide professional, friendly and knowledgeable support, ensuring customer requirements are handled promptly, accurately and in a controlled manner.

DUTIES

  • Customer Orders: Process customer orders, checking quantity accuracy and communicating delivery timelines to depot staff
  • Customer Service: Respond to customer and supplier enquiries and complaints, investigating issues through to closure or escalating where required
  • Internal Systems: Enter accurate data onto internal systems and reports, maintaining data security and integrity
  • Transport Administration: Book in orders, complete data entry and support start-of-day and end-of-day processes
  • Reports and Invoicing: Collate accurate data for customer invoices, pallet reports and job reports
  • Driver Support: Assist with driver checks, dispatch and debrief administration
  • Customer Relationships: Maintain and develop proactive relationships with existing customers and suppliers
  • Team Working: Support a customer-focused working environment and look for opportunities to improve the customer experience
  • Continuous Improvement: Help develop improved processes, systems and working practices to support performance and employee satisfaction
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a safe working environment that complies with the company’s health and safety policy

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Good communication skills with the ability to show empathy when dealing with customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience resolving disputes calmly and fairly
  • Ability to identify potential issues early and help prevent problems arising
  • Good report writing skills, including customer service activity and improvement recommendations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Confident, tactful and persuasive approach
  • Professional manner when working with colleagues, customers and suppliers
  • Good people skills and the ability to build trust and support across teams

DESIRABLE

  • Some pallet network experience would be preferred
