The Opportunity
As a Communication Support & Therapy Specialist, you'll work closely with learners who have a range of speech, language, communication, and interaction needs, supporting them to access education, develop essential life skills, and achieve their personal goals.
Working alongside teaching staff, learning support teams, parents, carers, and external professionals, you'll use your specialist knowledge to create personalised communication strategies, provide targeted support, and help learners overcome barriers to learning.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Assessing learners' communication needs and identifying strategies to support development
- Developing and delivering tailored communication support plans and interventions
- Supporting learners with speech, language, social communication, and interaction skills
- Providing guidance and practical strategies to teaching staff and support teams
- Working collaboratively with EHCP coordinators and multidisciplinary professionals
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to learner reviews and EHCP outcomes where appropriate
- Supporting the development of inclusive learning environments
- Helping learners build confidence, independence, and effective communication skills
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a relevant equivalent qualification
- HCPC registration or relevant experience within speech, language, and communication support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, empathetic, and learner-centred approach
- Experience supporting young people with SEND is desirable
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A genuine passion for helping learners achieve their full potential
