HOURS: 20-25 hours per week Monday to Friday. Mornings preferred.

TYPE OF CONTRACT: PERMANENT

We are recruiting a practical, experienced and highly motivated person to join our growing warehouse team. Working alongside our full-time Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Assistant, you will help keep day-to-day warehouse operations running smoothly and provide hands-on support across the wider premises. This is a varied role for someone who is willing to get stuck in, sees what needs doing and takes the initiative to do it. The role will suit someone who is dependable, proactive and forward-thinking, with previous warehouse or similar practical experience. You will be comfortable switching between routine warehouse duties and varied odd jobs, take pride in doing things properly and look for sensible ways to improve how the warehouse and premises are organised. You will work well as part of a small team, while also being trusted to manage tasks independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Assistant with daily warehouse operations
  • Receive, unload, check and safely store incoming deliveries
  • Pick, pack, label and dispatch customer orders and product samples accurately and on time
  • Assist with stock checks, stock rotation, labelling and maintaining accurate records
  • Help prepare paperwork, labels, data sheets and delivery documentation
  • Support product decanting, mixing and packing activities when required and once trained
  • Keep the warehouse, yard and shared work areas clean, tidy, safe and well organised
  • Help improve warehouse layout, storage, stock flow and general working practices
  • Assist with moving furniture, deliveries, equipment and materials around the premises
  • Carry out general practical jobs such as assembling tables or shelving, painting rooms and putting up pictures or noticeboards
  • Complete minor maintenance and premises tasks that are safe and within your skills and training
  • Report defects, damage, hazards or maintenance needs promptly
  • Support other departments with practical tasks when needed
  • Follow company health and safety procedures and use equipment and PPE correctly

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, stock, maintenance, facilities or other hands-on role
  • A strong work ethic and a willing, flexible approach
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to spot jobs that need doing
  • Practical and confident carrying out a variety of general tasks
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to completing work to a high standard
  • Able to prioritise tasks and adapt when business needs change

Rewards:

  • Part-time hours of approximately 20–25 per week, with a flexible working pattern and mornings preferred
  • Holiday entitlement calculated on a pro-rata basis, plus statutory entitlement as applicable
  • WPA health provision for prescriptions, eye tests and dentistry, subject to scheme eligibility after a 3 month probation period.
