The predicted salary is between 15 - 15 £ per hour.

As Business Support you will provide a range of routine and non-routine tasks including implementing and maintaining business processes, providing first line support for all quality, environmental and health and safety within the company and supporting with a range of requirements, deadlines, and schedules. Due to the nature of the business/product the hours will change between Summer and Winter. Between the months of March – October you will work 8 hours a day between 08.00 – 17.00 (40 hours per week) and between the months October – March between 09.00 – 17.00 Monday – Thursday and 09.00 – 16.00 Friday (34 hours per week). Salary is based on 37 hours per week throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety
    • Liaise with the company’s external Health and Safety specialist to ensure we have knowledge of all relevant legislation and be competent in its introduction, implementation, control and records e.g., COSHH and PPE.
    • Ensure compliance and staying up to date of changes and the introduction of new legislation and regulations.
    • Liaise with the company’s external Health and Safety specialist to manage and identify risk assessments in all areas of the sites and offices.
    • Work with the management team advising and assisting in the introduction, running, and maintenance of safe working practices.
    • Arrange all H&S training ensuring employees comply to regulation via risk assessment, on job training, external training bodies, group toolbox talks, and if necessary disciplinary procedure.
    • Through the existing or the introduction of Fire Wardens you will ensure safe working and compliance to FPA, this will include fire drills, equipment testing and maintenance, and warden training.
    • Responsible for first aid facilities and first aid training.
    • In house H&S audits, housekeeping inspections, PPE records and inspections are required.
    • You will be required to communicate with other Team Managers with a view to assisting in the overall improvement and standard of the health and safety conditions and environment offered to its employees.
    • Liaise with external Health and Safety specialists to ensure that the Health & Safety Policy is kept up to date in line with legislation and reviewed as necessary.
    • Management of Fire inspections, including practice evacuations, fire alarm testing and extinguisher monthly checks.
    • Health and safety and training management reporting into the weekly ops meeting.
    • Management and monitoring of the legionella risk assessment.
  • Accreditations
    • Responsible for the company’s ISO accreditation, its ongoing maintenance and continuing support within our business.
    • Liaise with the external provider to ensure all audits are completed on time and to the required standard, ensuring compliance with ISO procedures and regulations.
    • Principal contact within the company for all liaisons with external bodies, external auditors, etc.
    • Arrange external audit; lead the company’s compliance each time.
  • Returns
    • Liaising with the workshop to investigate customer returns.
    • Processing returns.
    • Rejecting claims or raising credits.
    • Raising supplier returns for faulty products.
    • Chase supplier returns raised.
  • Administration
    • Responsible for accuracy of all paperwork and figure work.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Maintenance of commodity codes in Stock tracker.
    • Filing and management of supplier compliance documentation.
    • GDPR administration and being a data protection officer within the company.
  • Legislation
    • Research of new or changes in relevant legislation, including EUDR, CBAM and digital product passports.
  • Additional
    • Assist the Managing Director in any special assignments/projects as requested ensuring confidentiality at all times.

Experience and Skills

  • Work Experience
    • Office based experience in a busy, dynamic environment.
    • Office based supervisory or all-encompassing role considered favourably.
    • Customer Service background considered.
    • Auditing experience.
    • Health and Safety, risk assessment and report writing experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Strong customer service skills, pleasant, helpful manner.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • High level of numeracy / literacy.
    • Excellent organisation skills with experience of prioritising tasks.
    • Strong IT skills using Microsoft suite of packages.
