Planning Compliance Officer needed to work around Esher Paying Β£26.78 per hr ref OR112826

Full time hours on a temporarybasis

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate alleged breaches of planning control and assess whether enforcement action is required.
  • Research planning histories, approved plans, permissions, and supporting documents relating to development sites.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, measurements, and surveys to establish compliance with planning permissions.
  • Interview landowners, occupiers, developers, and members of the public and obtain statements where necessary.
  • Negotiate with individuals and organisations to secure voluntary compliance with planning regulations.
  • Prepare reports recommending appropriate enforcement action.
  • Draft and serve enforcement notices and other statutory documentation.
  • Liaise with Legal Services regarding enforcement proceedings, appeals, hearings, prosecutions, and court actions.
  • Prepare and present evidence for appeals, public inquiries, hearings, and court proceedings.
  • Respond to enquiries from councillors, residents, businesses, and other stakeholders.
  • Support proactive planning enforcement projects across the borough.
  • Promote community engagement and public awareness of planning compliance requirements.
  • Assist with enforcement activity relating to Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) regulations and other planning legislation.
