We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Junior Charge Nurse/Sister to join our friendly and supportive team.

Special Care Baby Unit at Epsom has 6 level 1 cots, but regularly cares for level 2 & 3 babies requiring stabilisation prior to transfer to our level 2 unit on the St Helier's base. Additional Epsom hosts a transitional care unit on the postnatal ward which we provide support to.

The successful post holder will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to babies and their families while supporting the future development of our integrated neonatal and transitional care model. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills, gain experience across a range of neonatal settings, and be part of a team committed to innovation, family-centred care, and excellence.

The successful post holder will provide direct care to sick and preterm infants on Special Care Baby Unit and Transitional Care. The post holder will also attend all Neonatal emergencies and provide visible professional leadership in collaboration with the ward manager.

To promote a friendly and supportive atmosphere for parents and relatives in which they can learn to care for their babies. To utilise a variety of strategies to communicate effectively: with the neonate’s family/carers, the multidisciplinary team, other departments within the Trust and pertinent agencies outside the organisation. Support the nursing team in providing advice on breastfeeding, developmental care, family integrated care and parent education.
