About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Pipe Welder Apprentice to join a team working on district heating infrastructure across London. This is an opportunity for someone interested in developing a career in welding and pipework. You will receive on-site training to British welding standards while gaining practical experience working alongside experienced welders.
The role will involve:
- Welding district heating pipes in trenches.
- Developing the technical skills required to work safely and to a high standard within the industry.
Main Duties
- Assist with arc welding on district heating pipes, including pipes approximately 150mm to 300mm in diameter.
- Assist with gas welding on district heating pipes, including pipes approximately 50mm to 100mm in diameter.
- Develop practical welding skills through supervised onsite training.
- Learn to work to relevant British welding specifications and quality standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.
- Prepare materials and equipment for welding activities.
- Inspect work and ensure welds meet required quality standards.
- Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area safe and organised.
- Follow all site health and safety procedures and instructions.
- Work effectively alongside experienced welders and other site personnel.

- Good practical ability and willingness to undertake physical, site-based work.
- Reliable, proactive and committed approach to work.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
