To provide support to the multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe and responsive, high quality Endoscopic procedures for all adult patients attending as both out and in patients in a caring and effective well led unit, following assessment and planning of requirements by a registered nurse, and providing support by undertaking non-nursing and ancillary duties.
Assist in creating a physical and psychological environment conducive to the provision of high quality care for all patients attending the endoscopy department.
Assist with the nursing/clinical needs of all patients attending the unit for endoscopic and other procedures, escalating any concerns.
Communicate effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary care team.
Liaise with the relevant agencies to promote seamless care.
Provide assistance and support to all colleagues as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Take part in the initiation of new ideas and methods associated with the provision of care for endoscopy patients, their carers and relatives.
Actively participate in the promotion of health education.
Take responsibility for personal development and education and the development of a personal professional profile.
Abide by the legal requirements, statutory rules, relevant local policies and procedures in the execution of duties.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Adhere to Trust and Endoscopy Operational policy.
- Participate in all aspects of patient care assisting the RNs with admission and discharge recovery of patients post procedure.
- Assisting in procedure rooms setting up of endoscopy equipment taking biopsies.
- Escalating any concerns to the team leader.
Management and Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and support to all colleagues as part of the multi-disciplinary team, escalating any concerns to the team leader or department matron.
Policy and Service Development
- Take part in the initiation of new ideas and methods associated with the provision of care for endoscopy patients, their carers and relatives, actively participate in the promotion of health education.
- Promote completion of local and trust patient satisfaction surveys.
Research and Audit Responsibilities
- Assist in research projects.
