Shift Fitter | Elton, Cheshire | Permanent |Salary - £58,000 - £60,700
We’re looking for a time-served Mechanical Engineering Technician (Shift Fitter) to join our busy 24/7 manufacturing site at Encirc Elton.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for keeping our plant and equipment running safely and reliably. You’ll tackle breakdowns, carry out planned maintenance, fault-find mechanical issues and make sure problems are Fixed 4 Life - not just patched up.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Carry out reactive and planned mechanical maintenance.
- Fault-find and repair equipment to component level.
- Work on gearboxes, conveyors, valves and process machinery.
- Read mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
- Welding, bench fitting and mechanical repairs.
- Support continuous improvement and root cause problem-solving.
- Respond to engineering issues during out-of-hours production.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Time-served Mechanical Engineering qualification – Level 3 / ONC / City & Guilds.
- Manufacturing maintenance experience, ideally in a 24/7 environment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience with conveyors, gearboxes and process machinery.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Good communication skills and a "Fix 4 Life" mindset.
HNC/HND, electrical skills, SAP/CMMS experience and RCA/Kaizen knowledge would be a bonus.
