To support the Service Manager in delivering a prevention focussed strategy for the effective enforcement of relevant legislation and Council priorities, contributing to the protection of the health, safety, and wellbeing of residents across Moray.
The postholder will provide specialist knowledge, leadership, and operational management in the enforcement of consumer protection legislation, with a strong emphasis on community safety, public protection, and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
This includes tackling rogue trading, illegal sales, and the supply of unsafe goods, ensuring fair trading practices and consumer confidence.
The role also includes fulfilling the statutory duties of Chief Trading Standards Officer and Weights and Measures Inspector.
The role requires a proactive, risk-based, and intelligence-led approach, balancing enforcement with education and partnership working to achieve positive outcomes for communities and consumers.

- You must be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.
You are required to hold a current full driving licence to enable you to carry out the full duties of the post
