We are currently seeking a skilled and organised Electrical Technician to join a well-established FE College in London on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality Electrical Installation programmes, working closely with lecturers and students in practical workshop environments.
The Role:
As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for preparing workshops, maintaining equipment, supporting practical lessons, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment. You will work alongside teaching staff to provide technical support across Electrical Installation courses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing electrical workshops, tools, equipment, and materials for practical sessions
- Supporting lecturers and learners during practical activities
- Maintaining, testing, and servicing electrical equipment and workshop resources
- Managing stock levels and ordering consumables where required
- Ensuring all workshops comply with health and safety regulations and safe working practices
- Carrying out routine maintenance and housekeeping duties
- Supporting the delivery of Electrical Installation programmes across the department
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Electrical Technician or within the Electrical Installation industry
- Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation or a related electrical discipline
- Good knowledge of electrical tools, testing equipment, and safe working practices
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
