Applications are invited for the fixed-term post of Research Environment Data Analyst within the Research and Innovation Directorate at Royal Holloway, University of London. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to two of the University's strategic priorities: the development of our REF 2029 submission and the continued enhancement of our research culture and research environment.
Working as part of the REF team, the postholder will play a key role in supporting the development of the University's Supporting People, Research and Environment (SPRE) submission, helping to coordinate evidence, analyse data, support stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the production of a high-quality institutional return. The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of research strategy, data analysis, research culture and responsible research assessment.
Alongside supporting REF 2029 preparations, the postholder will contribute to the University's wider research performance and planning activity, developing analytical insights and evidence frameworks that support institutional decision-making and continuous improvement. The postholder will also contribute to a range of activities that support the University's research environment, research culture and responsible research assessment ambitions. This will include providing analytical and project support for initiatives designed to enhance the research experience and inform continuous improvement across the institution.
Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues across the University, the successful candidate will help departments understand and make effective use of research performance data, support the development of research environment narratives, coordinate review and assurance processes, and contribute to activities that strengthen the University's research environment and culture.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and analytical individual with excellent organisational and communication skills, who is comfortable working with complex information and engaging a wide range of stakeholders. You will have experience of analysing and interpreting data to support decision-making, producing clear reports and insights, and managing competing priorities within a fast-paced environment. Experience of working within the higher education sector and knowledge of the Research Excellence Framework would be advantageous.
This fixed-term role provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop expertise in research assessment, research strategy, research culture, responsible research evaluation and institutional performance analysis within a supportive and collaborative environment, while contributing directly to the University's REF 2029 preparations.
