The Department of Economics at Royal Holloway seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Economics (teaching focus). The successful applicant would be required to start in September 2026. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months.

About the Department

The Department of Economics is part of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. It is a research-intensive unit, regularly scoring highly in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise. The Department provides a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes to a diverse student body, including an MSc Finance. It is particularly proud of the learning and co-design opportunities it gives to students and is committed to empowering student voice across its programmes.

About the role

The successful candidate will contribute to modules in Finance across the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, including the modules Financial Markets and Institutions and Corporate Finance, as well as contributing to the dissertation module in MSc Finance through organisation and supervision. The successful candidate will be committed to student experience both on their modules and more generally, particularly through personal tutoring. The successful candidate will also be expected to take on administrative roles and the department is particularly keen to hire someone to enhance their website and social media presence through co-developing a comms strategy.
