Are you passionate about security, safety and delivering an exceptional customer experience? ISS is looking for a professional and motivated Security Controller to join our team. This is a key operational role where you will be at the forefront of maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for colleagues, customers, visitors and contractors across the site. Based primarily within the on-site Security Control Room, you will act as a central point of contact, supporting the day-to-day security operation and responding effectively to incidents, emergencies and conflict. Representing both ISS and our client at ground level, you will play an important role in ensuring our security service remains proactive, professional and prepared.
The Role
- Always ensure the safety and security of everyone on site.
- Maintain a high level of vigilance and identify, investigate and escalate suspicious activity.
- Prevent unauthorised access and help maintain the integrity of the site.
- Keep fully informed of daily site activity, events and operational requirements.
- Act as a professional first point of contact for employees, contractors, visitors and operational partners.
- Build positive and professional relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Monitor CCTV across the main complex and ancillary buildings, escalating concerns promptly.
- Operate site intercom, access control and intruder alarm systems accurately and professionally.
- Report Health & Safety breaches and security concerns appropriately.
About You
- Previous experience working in a security environment.
- A valid front-line SIA licence in Security Guarding, Door Supervision or Close Protection.
- Experience with security systems and related technology.
- Confidence using CCTV, alarm, access control and digital reporting systems, or the ability and willingness to learn quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and a consistent, professional approach.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to remain calm, professional and responsive during incidents or challenging situations.
- The ability to work independently while also supporting colleagues and contributing positively to the wider team.
- Flexibility and commitment to working the 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour day and night shift pattern.
