We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded HR Business Partner to join our Ebbw Vale leadership team and play a key role in shaping our people agenda.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of HR, you'll act as a trusted advisor to the Site Senior Leadership Team, leading the development and delivery of a robust people plan that supports operational performance and long-term business success.
This is a broad and influential role where you'll have responsibility for everything from employee engagement and industrial relations to talent development, workforce planning, organisational design and HR compliance.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Strategic HR Partnership
- Partner with the Site Leadership Team to understand business priorities and provide data-led people solutions.
- Develop and deliver the site people plan, aligned to wider Group HR objectives.
- Lead and support Group-wide HR initiatives and transformation projects.
- Drive continuous improvement and modern HR practices across the site.
- Employee Relations & Engagement
- Lead complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent and compliant outcomes.
- Build strong employee engagement through employee forums, communication channels and engagement initiatives.
- Manage annual engagement surveys and coordinate action planning.
- Support effective union and employee representative relationships where applicable.
- Talent & Performance
- Oversee recruitment activity alongside the Group Talent Team.
- Drive retention initiatives and analyse workforce trends.
- Lead succession planning and talent reviews for key roles.
- Support delivery of the site pay strategy.
- Ensure performance management processes are embedded and effective.
- Workforce Planning & Labour Management
- Partner with Operations and Finance to ensure workforce plans support productivity and performance.
- Manage labour deployment, agency relationships and labour cost controls.
- Identify workforce risks and implement sustainable people solutions.
- Leadership & Capability
- Coach and influence senior leaders to achieve business objectives.
- Develop leadership capability across the site.
- Lead and develop the site HR team, building a high-performance culture.
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure HR practices remain legally compliant and aligned with company policies.
- Oversee Employment Tribunal, ACAS and complex ER cases where required.
- Lead SEDEX and SMETA audit readiness activities.
- Monitor HR KPIs and implement corrective actions as required.
- Ensure compliance with Right to Work, Working Time Regulations and Modern Slavery requirements.
What We're Looking For
- CIPD Level 7 qualified or equivalent HR experience.
- Previous experience operating as an HR Manager or HR Business Partner within manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong employment law and employee relations knowledge.
- Experience influencing and coaching senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead organisational change and people initiatives.
- Experience with audits and compliance frameworks such as SEDEX or SMETA would be advantageous.
- A commercially focused mindset with a passion for developing people and improving performance.
